Abstract In January 2010, the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (OGP) Safety Data Subcommittee sponsored a twoday Fatal Incident and High-Potential Event workshop. Considering the industry plateau in fatal accident rates over the la the revised IOGP Life-Saving Rules (See Appendix A for data analysis, Rule development, and applicability). The IOGP Life-Saving Rules are not intended to address all risks and hazards in the oil and gas industry; they are meant to draw attention to the activities most IOGP Life-Saving Rules. Published 8 April 2013. This report outlines a set of IOGP Life-Saving Rules which can be used in the oil & gas industry to mitigate risk and reduce fatalities. IOGP aims to improve the level of industry-wide adoption across the global oil and gas industry. The reduced number of rules (nine) still cover a similar scope to that of the original 18 Life-Saving Rules: since 2008, 376 lives could have been potentially saved by following the revised IOGP Life-Saving Rules.
